I had so much fun working with Hazel and Daniel this year – a truly exciting couple! When we met for our consultation, I knew their wedding was going to be a blast not only because of their 510 area code (what is it about Californians having fun weddings?), but also because Hazel and Daniel really are those sunny, silly, fun-loving people in real life.
Swipe right for #Dazel 😉
One of the weddings I will remember most from 2015 is Emily and Patrick’s wedding at Hollywood Schoolhouse in Woodinville. It was one of those overcast Pacific Northwest days where it seemed like it was going to rain at any moment, but I don’t think it ever actually did (maybe one or two drops in the morning). But I think that, traveling from Poland where to two are living now, that’s exactly the kind of weather they wanted to see, and what better way to welcome their friends and family from across the world than to see the weather we’re best known for?
While some couples get camera shy or let the stresses of the day wear them down, Emily and Patrick were going strong all day long. So many great memories were caught on camera with this wedding, and you could tell that everyone was having the time of their lives. The humor and joy that these two have when they’re together made filming this wedding a pleasure, and I’ve never laughed so much while editing a wedding! Congratulations to both of them – they clearly have many wonderful years ahead of them!
Unified Cinematic’s newest wedding film plays more like a documentary film than any of the others we’ve done. It’s really cool to see how far we’ve developed our craft in the last year alone, and this new take on an extended wedding film is a great example of the kind of films we make!
Capturing candid moments like these are what make filming weddings so much fun. My favorite part of the film shows the recently married couple having an ‘unnoficial’ first dance hidden away in the trees. Unscripted and unplanned, even I got a little misty eyed watching this 😉
Throwing the cake certainly would have made for a memorable wedding, but probably better that he didn’t do it!
